Money taken from my account without knowledge

Extremely disappointed that an accusation of damage to a tv resulted in $407 debited from our account without notice or consultation. A phone call was received from Rena approx 10 hours after checkout to advise we had destroyed a tv and had been charged. Absolutely disgusted that not only had we not turned a tv on or gone near either in the apartment in the time we stayed, but were accused of potential damage that already existed, or happened after our departure. Very sad end to what was a pleasant stay I was actually asked by Rena to leave a review because “reviews really help them”. I hope by leaving this one that they can look at their “following procedures” guidelines and gather some intel before accusations and associated helping themselves to money from someone’s account.

Faulty Towers - Broken Lifts, Huge Delays, No one answering calls - A quite cancel

Nothing was going right for this hotel the weekend we stayed. Huge delays at reception, 2 of the 3 lifts broke down for 2 days causing huge delays, and people losing their way with frustration. Due to the fact our room keys didn't work - and so not only once did we experience this but twice. Quietly we left a day early (not wanting to experience another day of chaos) - and thankfully ended our break there. Less said about the room the better, smelt badly of cigarette smoke, the dyer didn't work, air cond was full or nothing and the outside balcony area was off limits. A quite cancel and never again

Stayed three nights Meriton Pitt St Location to Light Rail Train Pitt St Mall and Central CBD could not be better Front Desk Staff professional courtesy and nothing to much trouble Suites well equiped with full kitchen and laundry Bed and Pillows promote a good nights sleep The lifts - only 2 of the 3 working due to upgrading We never waited more than 90 secs up or down The lift system technology is superb swipe your room key and the lift system allocates you a car tells you how long until it arrives and then transports you to your destinated floor When you actually get into the lift the speed of the lift is rapid Yes there is some construction noise from building close by but nothing to get overly concerned about not noticeable unless the windows open Watching the alimaks go up and down is quite tranquail Based on our experience definitely highly recommend and would we stay again absolutely

Excellent customer service

While arriving around 10am at the hotel, the reception team offered to store our luggage until our room was ready, as I was quite stressed from my earlier journey, the lovely front desk manager was quick to assist and clear up a big mistake- duplicate booking (accidentally made by me) without any hesitation. Extremely helpful and understanding, even asking if we required a late check out as our flight the next day wasn’t until 2pm. My family and I were so grateful for such lovely service and will definitely be back the next time we come to Sydney. Thank you for starting our trip on a good note. The apartment was also very nice and clean!

Clean, Good Value. Very Central. Elevator Update!

Feb 8-20, 2024 The hotel was really wonderful. Sweeping view to the NW. We had about 600sf(maybe ~60 meters) one-bedroom apartment, with a full kitchen and laundry and deck on the 39th floor for about what an average hotel costs. The neighborhood is full of restaurants and many transit options. It was clean and in great shape. We enjoyed our time there. They have a very minimal housekeeping policy. So, when we checked in, we asked firmly for 3 full deep cleans in our 12-day stay and they mostly complied, except the middle time, when they made the bed but did not actually change the sheets. But they left a chocolate(just 1) that time! We had read the bad reviews about the elevators. The elevators really turned out to be a non-issue. They are swapping out the 3 elevators one-at-a-time for tremendously better machines. They are of the type where you swipe your key in the lobby and it assigns you a car and you just walk in and it takes you to your floor(no buttons in the car). A nice bonus is that it gives you an estimated wait time as it assigns you the car. The times were accurate about 80% of the time and not far off when they were late, the “unknown” factor was eliminated. Once we had to wait about 4 minutes and a few times 3 minutes. Mostly in the 10-second to 1-minute range. They were extremely fast and smooth(best individual hotel elevators we’ve ever experienced), so they were a pleasure to use. In the 12 nights we were there, we rode the elevators maybe 75 times, so we know them well! Since two of the 3 cars are done and of the new type, the situation is probably better than back when using only 2 older cars, hence the bad reviews. One time, however, the display on our floor, said “Unable to allocate an elevator. Please try again shortly.” This was disconcerting! We were on the 39th floor and we are in our seventies and really shouldn’t try to walk down unless there was a fire. We went back to the room and tried to call the front desk. No answer. At about 5 minutes we tried the elevators again, same display, …but I could hear the cars moving in the shaft, leading me to think it was a display issue rather than the system being totally down. So we called again(no answer) and when we checked after a total of about 12 minutes, the displays were normal and a car came soon after. One time out of 75 rides, I can forgive them for! Best moderate fine dining we had in the area: Mazzaro -Italian. Old school waiters serving very good food. Best fun “Find” of a restaurant: Yappari Steak House The concept is ingenious. You order your meat(mostly types of steak), in the size you want. 100, 200, or 450 or more grams. and it is served blood rare on a sizzling hot piece of "lava rock". You then slice it and cook your portion to your liking. They have a dozen or more interesting sauces to add before or after cooking. And they provide salad and soup. About A$30 for a 200-gram piece of very good tenderloin. Very high quality and a lot of fun. We walked by about 7pm and there was a line of about 20 people waiting to get in. But at 5pm the next day we got right in. We like the 4 breakfast places in the area: La Famiglia Cafe, The Walrus Sydney CBD, Le MONDE Bakery-Cafe and Bearded Bear Cafe. The little Japanese restaurant next to the hotel serves good medium-price Japanese standards. We ate there twice when we were not eager to walk far. The big bowls of ramen looked really good and were popular with the locals but we didn't try it. Sakura Japanese Kitchen.
